Carved Contemporary Flintlock Jaeger in the Style of Caspar Zellner
John B. Derrick (American, b.1936)
.50 caliber. 31" octagonal barrel. SN: NSN. Browned metal finish. Cherry stock has carved rococo scroll and incised lines to butt and forearm, with carved cheek rest to left side. Flintlock rifle with two leaf folding notch rear sight and fleur-de-lis brass blade front sight. Item features double set triggers, double sling swivels, and a patchbox on right side. Stock features several wax-cast brass fittings showing ornate filigree. Crafted in the style of 18th century Austrian gunmaker Caspar Zellner (1661-1745).

Condition
Good to very good. Bore is bright. Finish shows pitting scattered overall. Wood stock is in good condition. Sliding patchbox cover was unable to be opened. Action is functional.
